2016’s Word of the Year is my New Version of a Resolution

Happy New Year!  While many people were out celebrating the New Year I sat at home watching movies while browsing the internet getting caught up on some reading I have been wanting to get done.  It was during this time that I realized I wanted to do something different for my New Years resolution this year.  I have found that I really struggle to keep and remember what my resolutions are every year because it is a long list and honestly I get too busy with daily life to remember everything.  That is why when I came across this idea for a Word of the Year on Alphabet Salad’s blog I knew this would be the perfect solution for me.

Do you struggle to keep your New Years resolution, too?

If you answered yes to the question above then maybe you should consider this option with a Word of the Year instead of a New Years Resolution.  Choosing a Word of the Year makes it so much easier to focus on one idea and one concept that you want to be applied to your year.  Choosing the right word was not easy for me.  I wanted to make sure that I selected the perfect word that would describe what I want out of my life in this new year.

persevere quote

Well, I guess it is time for me to reveal my Word of the Year.  That is why you are here isn’t it?  My Word of the Year, is…

P E R S E V E R E

1  to persist in anything undertaken; maintain a purpose in spite of difficulty, obstacles, or discouragement; continue steadfastly.

2  to persist in speech, interrogation, argument, etc.; insist.

3  to bolster, sustain, or uphold

2016 is a year when I will need to PERSEVERE because so many new will be crossing my path this year.  There is a large chance that my disability will progress much farther than it has in the past due to my current pregnancy and possible complications that can arise post-pregnancy.  That itself is daunting to me as it would cause me to change up a lot of my daily living habits, but it is not my only concern for this year.  I also have a little baby boy that I will be giving birth to an amazing little boy in the next month or so which brings on a whole new daunting task of raising a child.

I am determined to persevere through this year and beyond.

Now it’s your turn!
